Introduction
The School of Global Liberal Studies at Sejong University is designed for international students who wish to explore their academic interests before choosing a major. Rather than entering the University with a predetermined field of study, students spend their first year discovering their strengths, interests, and future goals through a broad and supportive academic experience.
During the first year, students strengthen their Korean language proficiency, deepen their understanding of Korean culture, and build the foundational skills required for university-level study. At the same time, they encounter a wide range of disciplines across the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, and other fields offered at Sejong University. Introductory courses, major information sessions, academic experiences, faculty advising, and mentoring help students turn general curiosity into a clearer academic direction.
At the end of the first year, students select a major that best reflects their interests, abilities, and aspirations and continue their studies in that field. Through communication and collaboration with people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, they also develop intercultural competence, integrative thinking, and creative problem-solving skills. The School respects each student's individual path and supports every student in connecting personal potential with a meaningful major and a future that reaches beyond borders.

Career Path after Graduation
Because students choose their major after completing the first year, their career opportunities extend across the many academic and professional fields available at Sejong University. After graduation, they may pursue careers related to their selected major in corporations, public institutions, research organizations, international organizations, cultural and media industries, technology enterprises, hospitality and tourism, or other specialized sectors. Korean language proficiency and intercultural communication skills will be especially valuable in roles that connect Korea with global markets and communities.
