Introduction
Climate change is intensifying weather volatility and increasing the risk of instability in global food production, raising growing concerns about global food security. At the same time, agriculture is rapidly evolving into a high-tech, value-added industry driven by advanced technologies and consumer-oriented innovation. To address emerging challenges in food and bioresources, the Department of Integrative Biological Sciences and Industry trains interdisciplinary professionals by integrating AI, smart agriculture, big data, multi-omics, and synthetic biology. Through this convergence, we focus on the discovery and development of high-value functional food and edible insects, nutraceuticals, biotechnology-based crops, as well as bio-chemical pharmaceuticals. By combining biological resources with cutting-edge analytical and biotechnological approaches, our department aims to lead innovation in the future food, health, and bio-industry sectors.

Educational Goals
Foster innovative solutions by integrating life science, agriculture, food science, ICT, and AI based on creative interdisciplinary thinking.
Develop the ability to identify real-world problems in industrial and field environments and make rational, data-driven decisions through logical reasoning, scientific analysis, and evidence-based approaches.

Career Path after Graduation
1. Private sector companies, including pharmaceutical companies, food and nutraceutical companies, biotechnology firms, seed and agricultural technology companies, and bio-based material industries.
2. Government-Funded Science and Technology Research Institutes, such as the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and breeding or biotechnology research centers in the private sector.
3. Government agencies and public organizations, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Rural Development Administration, and the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization.
4. Entrepreneurship and start-ups, including bio-venture companies in areas such as functional foods, biotechnology, smart agriculture, and bio-based materials.
5. Academic and educational careers, including positions as university professors, researchers, and science educators.
