Introduction
The Department of Design Innovation cultivates creative designers who shape aesthetic and experiential value across visual media and products.
The Department comprises two majors: Visual Communication Design, with specialized tracks in brand design and digital media design, and Industrial Design, with tracks in product design and transportation design. UI/UX design forms the common core connecting the two majors, preparing all students to create user-centered designs for the physical and digital environment.
Grounded in solid design fundamentals and practice-oriented studio education, students learn to respond to changes in media and technology and grow into design experts who lead innovation across industry and society.

Educational Goals
To teach the theories and technical skills needed to creatively apply cutting-edge technology in a rapidly changing, software-driven society.
To cultivate insight through the convergence of IT and design, enabling students to respond to diverse user environments and lead technological innovation.
To foster hands-on experts who can creatively planand execute design–technology convergence projects spanning visual media and products.
Career Path after Graduation
Graduates specializing in visual communication design pursue careers in advertising and PR design, brand and package design, editorial design, and digital media design, as well as graphic and interface design for VR- and IoT-based products. Some work as freelance illustrators or game graphic designers.
Graduates specializing in product design work as designers of consumer electronics, IT devices, automobiles, housewares, and sporting goods, applying their skills across product and transportation design.
Reflecting the department’s convergence-oriented education, a growing number of graduates are entering emerging fields such as UX/UI design and service design. Graduates may also pursue advanced degrees and move into research positions at corporate design institutes.
