Introduction

The Department of Intelligent IoT focuses on cultivating future-oriented professionals capable of leading a rapidly evolving, hyper-connected society where people and things are linked in real time. Based on the convergence of IoT and AI—core technologies of modern society—the department emphasizes the development of talents with strong problem-solving skills, practical expertise, and interdisciplinary thinking. Students gain a solid understanding of key technological components such as sensors, data, networks, and algorithms, enabling them to address complex real-world challenges.


The curriculum integrates theory, practice, hands-on training, and system design to strengthen students’ ability to solve multifaceted engineering problems encountered in industrial environments. In particular, the department operates micro-degree programs structured to cover the entire lifecycle of autonomous intelligent IoT systems, from problem identification and system design to implementation and solution development.


In addition, students enhance their practical competencies through industry-participated, problem-solving projects, such as the We-Meet Project, where experts from industry collaborate directly in the educational process. Through this practice-oriented curriculum, students develop expertise not only in core IoT technologies—including platforms, devices, networking, and artificial intelligence—but also gain the capacity to apply these skills across diverse application domains such as smart cities, mobility, energy, healthcare, and social services. Graduates emerge as innovative R&D professionals equipped with both technical depth and adaptability for various industries.

Career Path after Graduation

The undergraduate curriculum of this department is structured around four core IoT technology areas: IoT platforms, IoT devices, IoT networking, and IoT intelligence. Students systematically study platform understanding and applications, system design and implementation, network technologies and system construction, as well as advanced AI convergence technologies. After graduation, students can pursue careers in a wide range of fields, including smart home and smart city development, industrial IoT service development, and data-driven AI analysis. Graduates may also advance to domestic or international graduate programs (master’s and doctoral degrees) to acquire deeper expertise and conduct research in related fields. Career opportunities extend to leading technology companies and public research institutions, such as Samsung Electronics, LG CNS, Naver, POSCO ICT, and others.
